We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment at New Harbor Serviced Residences at 88 Yong Shou Road. It was the perfect apartment for us as we can bring the club/lounge back to our living room! Evenings were spent merry making with pre drinks before dinner and post drinks after our Long day!
We took Shanghai by storm!! Shopped hard at 香港明街，陈黄庙, H&M Huai Hai Road. Ate hard at 海底捞，四川菜, crepe, street food for supper. Drank hard (parents better not be reading this! I knw Mr Tan will be damn cool abt it), champagne,whiskey,beer! Partied hard at Hao Le Di KTV, outdoor alfresco drinking at 外派,and our living room of course. We get to meet up with Joceline, who is ever so sweet to meet me whenever I am there and also hinted me numerous times not to visit so often..hehe, for lunch and shopping. Am always thankful to her for hosting us and driving us around in e crazy traffic! Last but not least,I am super duper touched when e gals threw me a birthday and bachelorette bash (BBB) on our 1st night at our apartment. My birthday board is lovingly custom-made by Serene (can be lighted up),present is thoughtfully chosen by Alice (pearl bracelet with red heel charms,very ME) and wedding veil is adoringly made by Joanne. I feel very very fortunate,blessed and touched to be loved by my gfs!! What else can I ask for, except occasionally asking them to 捞一笔 for our kitty fund *wink wink
Unfortunately,Alice lost her hand phone on the last night. Suspected pickpocket by professional,i am shivering and angered by the thought of it,that he/she can slip into the pocket of her trench coat and snipe it! Our brave and considerate Alice was very calm and cool about it! Hoping that the insurance can compensate it.
On our return flight,Alice and I were nearly bumped off our China Eastern flight (ETD 4.15pm). We queued for a long time to be checked in (we queued from 2.30 till 3.15) and once we reached e checkin counter,the staff informed us that the flight is overloaded and that they will offer us 1500rmb to take a later SQ/MU flight at 12midnight (8hrs delay). On normal days,this would have been an OK deal (aka if we dont hv to work e next day), as we get compensation from both airline n travel insurance. But we have to work e next day and 8hrs delay is really over the top! I was bewildered by how MU informed us on the overload situation and assuming that we will accept their offer. To their credit,the counter staffs were really trying to help us,and only after 35 nerve recking mins, at 3.50pm then did they confirm our seats for a 4.15 departing flight. We turbo our luggage and ourselves on board!!! It was really an experience. Thankfully,we were upgraded to biz class on the flight for us to calm our nerves. Then we received news while we were on board that Christine (Alice sister) is in labor pain and in hospital for baby delivery! Alice was really on an emotional roller coaster for the past 24hrs! When we reached, We got wind that Christine has delivered at 7pm :))))) congrats to Alice on her Aunt status for e 2nd time. YAY!!!!
All well ends well! Shanghai has left alot of KNN stories to be re-told down e years, wonderful adventures,beautiful memories and strengthen the special friendship bond that the 4 of us have for one another.
